Paper is an Android launcher. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no accounts. The developer collects nothing: no usage data, no identifiers, no crash reports. Everything the app knows — your favorite apps, your book and reading position, your notes, your settings — is stored only on your device.
Query installed apps — Paper is a launcher; listing your apps is its job. The list never leaves the device.
Calendar, contacts, notifications, usage access, location (coarse) — each powers one optional feature (the calendar line, contacts in search, correspondence on the home page, the screen-time line, the weather line). All are off by default, each is read only when you switch its feature on, and none of this data is transmitted or stored off the device.
Accessibility service — used solely for two optional conveniences: double-tap to lock the screen and swipe-down to open the notification shade. It reads no screen content and observes no events.
Internet — used by exactly two optional, off-by-default features: the weather line (a keyless request to Open-Meteo with your coarse position) and the secretary, below.
If — and only if — you paste your own API credentials into Paper's settings, the questions you ask the agent page, together with the knowledge sources you configure, are sent to Google's Gemini API (or to a server you operate yourself) to be answered. That traffic is governed by Google's API terms, under your own account. The developer operates no server for you, sees none of this traffic, and holds none of your keys. Remove the credentials and the app makes no such calls at all.
If a future version changes any of the above, this page changes with it, and the app's listing will link the current version.
